I picked up some prezzies for my challenges at Hobby Lobby today and I stocked up on adhesive. My desk is semi-clean and I've planned a few pages. I think I'm ready!

going to clean my desk NOW!!!! It's not bad, just the stuff I used today.

I am going to be here bright and EARLY in the morning. Then leaving at lunch time to take wyatt to the orthodontist. THen the next three days are ALL MINE!!!! Unless I cook dinner. (I even made steve happy tonight so that's done too. )

I stocked up on adhesive this week too.

Bought some cheapie cardstock at Walmart today, 8 1/2 by 11 for my recipe book. I am having fun with that right now. The pages are super simple, almost back to my beginning scrappy days of simple. Just cardstock for the background and then some old pp scraps to "dress" it up somewhat. Since it's just recipes, I am using up the scraps since I don't have to try to match to my pictures. I'm not going for prefection, just going to get it done. and use up the older stuffs. Wyatt has helped me with a few pages, so they have the "sticker sneeze"

I have 3 boxes of pictures sorted and ready to go.

I have sketches printed out, ready to go.

Movies (check)
now to just get cracking

Morning all! happy crop day - I'm hoping to have access to that laptop today, but some things have changed and I don't know how accessible I will be. I'm going to try to get a scattegories game up and live before I leave, and it will be a long first round - I may not get back online until tonight.

I'm trying hard to use the scrap stuff I have instead of buying new (exept for paper - I have a really hard time not buying paper). So today I'm using some of my Gin-X rub-on letters. I LOVED those. Got tons of them. What was I thinking?!!? It takes forever to cut and rub each letter.
But I'm using them, dammit.

for my recipe book, I am using REALLY old stuffs. but it's fun. I don't put a lot of thought into the pages, and no embellies at all (other than maybe ribbon or a button). I just wanted to make my recipe pages colorful and fun looking (Plus these want get thrown away as easily when I leave them on the counter. Steve thinks any white paper left on the counter is trash. Even if I am in the middle of USING the recipe at the time. It was an honest mistake that time. Plus these will be in page protectors so I can easily wipe off any spills. I am using up really ugly old paper I thought was cute at the time. that way I don't feel guilty for wasting the money.

and my goal for the REST of the year is to NOT buy any scrappy stuff but cardstock and adhesive. (maybe a little bit of pattern paper, but really I am trying hard to not buy anymore til I use this stuff up)

I've got the same resolve..........I've been using up stuff that's been collecting dust for a while now...........and trying to use scraps instead of cutting new pieces

I have a box full of paper that I was going to give away. decided nah, just use it in the recipe book. But I am using scraps first. Then I decided to keep the paper for when I have a friend over. She wants to learn to scrap but doesn't have a whole lot of expendable income. (single mom, two kids, deadbeat dad type situation). So she comes over to play around with scrapping, uses up the older paper, gets to relax while the boys all play together. All she has to buy is adhesive. (I gave her a couple of packs of cardstock for her one year "left the jerk" anniversary. )

i've only bought one new paper pack this summer!!! and that was only because kelly waved it under my nose when i was buying adhesive from her... she knows my weaknesses.

i'm tryin' to use up this amazing mass of supplies i have.

I am outta here. Gotta take Wyatt to the orthodontist. Then run pick up "hurricane supplies" (stupid husband thinks stupid tropical storm will come right over us SUnday or MOnday and he wants to be prepared.) Run some stuff up to his office and then I guess I need to feed the young'un.. and feed my sister's "zoo" (cat, rat, dog, fish.. yes RAT)

Hope to be back before dinner time. But I am waiting on the paint to dry for my cool off layout anyway.

we are getting rain from Bonnie today. I actually love the way the clouds look. They are different from a normal rain storm. Can't explain it, just looks and feels different.

I know that look and that feeling. It is different. Pretty even with the sense of "impending doom"

I know that if I don't prepare NOW, there will be NOTHING on the sheves when I need it. At least I bought groceries this week. (Please pray that it doesn't turn into another Gustav or Katrina and I lose ALL of the meat I just bought ). But I just need "sammich/easy fixing stuff"

Waiting on the boy to rebrush his teeth. He brushed after breakfast. Then ate some crackers. Sigh. He eats nonstop. Then said. What do ya mean brush them again? Geez.

And he is moving at the speed of Florida drivers. Sorry Candice. I mean the little old people. I call them mr magoo drivers. Blind, deaf, and have shrunk so they no longer can see over the steering wheel. Lol. Seriously snails are moving faster than this kid
